VIETNAMESE STUDIES AND LANGUAGE PROGRAM
1. INTENSIVE LANGUAGE COURSE:
2. ACADEMIC LANGUAGE COURSE
These courses are for students who are about to begin a university course or who want to apply to a university in the future at Tonducthang University. Our Academic Vietnamese courses will prepare students for the language used in university lectures and academic books.
3. STUDY TOURS PROGRAM
In order to help students improve their Vietnamese language skills and understand more of Vietnam - the country, the people, and the culture - the Center of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language can organize “study tours” according to students’ requirements, including activities such as visiting scenic locations within Vietnam, heritage areas, craft villages, and home stays with local people.
4. EXCHANGE CULTURE PROGRAM
This program offers an opportunity for academic study of the language, history and culture of pre-modern and modern Vietnam. No previous Vietnamese language study is required.
Students will participate in cultural excursions to the fascinating cultural treasures of Saigon, the Mekong Delta area and other cultural and historic sites. Excursions to Central and Northern Vietnam can be arranged as options.
Cultural exchanges will be one of the most important activities by which foreign students can meet and exchange experiences with Vietnamese Universities. Week- long home stays will be arranged to acquaint foreign students with the daily life of Vietnamese: meals, entertainment activities, family relationship, etc.
As an option, students may substitute some hours of Vietnamese instruction with additional organized cultural tours. However, at least 60 % of the time must be devoted to the Vietnamese language classes to ensure a threshold ability in the Vietnamese language to integrate with daily life experiences.
5. SPECIAL OFFER
As well as the programs above, the Center can design a Vietnamese curriculum, teaching Vietnamese culture for individuals or agencies, as required.
The Vietnamese Culture Program focuses on topics such as Vietnamese cuisine, regional culture, craft village culture, development history, etc.
6.TESTS and CERTIFICATES
A placement test is required of students from Elementary 2 upwards.
Student takes mid-term and final tests to track their learning progress.
